Remote Senior Full-Stack Rails Engineer
Nadine West: A Remote-First, Systems-Driven Global Team
We started in 2014 in a backyard shed in Austin, and today, we have close to 250 employees all around the world. Click here to hear our founder and CEO share the story about how we started and where we’re going.
What's it like to work at Nadine West?
Nadine West is a bootstrapped women’s fashion subscription.
If you love and embrace the mindset outlined in Cal Newport’s Deep Work and Jocko Willink’s Extreme Ownership, then Nadine West could be a good cultural fit for you.
Freedom from the constant interruptions of meetings and pings via phone, Slack, and Zoom means that we can move the needle in less time. It also gives us a calmer work life (instead of long, stressful work days) and more time to develop better processes (instead of constantly putting out fires).

What will I do as senior engineer?
Reporting directly to the Lead Engineer, you will dive in and take ownership of our existing codebase, helping extend and scale our bespoke recommendations engine, order management, inventory, shipping, and reporting components.
This is primarily a back-office application that has only internal users. Late night and weekend emergencies are exceedingly rare, almost non-existent.
This is a great opportunity to help lead the engineering team of a well-established brand that has retained its startup culture.
We need a senior engineer who can not only build our existing codebase, but also push the envelope, as we are developing some sophisticated functionality and data science capabilities, similar to Netflix, Amazon, and Stitch Fix.
What are the requirements?
You have built, launched, extended, and maintained a business-critical Rails app long enough to learn from your decisions, and love sharing those stories.
You have time-tested beliefs about code quality, testing, architecture, database design, ORMs, and build vs. buy tradeoffs, and enjoy articulating those beliefs to your colleagues.
You’re at home owning the entire product development cycle (design, dev, testing, release, monitoring).
You’ve managed CI/CD pipelines and love auto-deploying to production after your well-honed tests pass.
You cherish focused, low-interruption deep work like we do (read Basecamp’s “Is group chat making you sweat?")
What are the perks and benefits?
Salary Range: (Market)
Fully remote: So you can live anywhere that makes you happy.
Schedule flexibility: So you can work whatever schedule makes you most productive—our only regular engineering meeting is once a week.
